At Asonye BEB Foundation, we believe that the strength of a community lies in the potential of its people, especially its youth. Our roots are deeply embedded in the heart of Obowo, and our mission is to ensure that every talented young person can have an opportunity to achieve his/her dreams. We’re not just building a structure; we’re creating a legacy of empowerment.
Asonye BEB Foundation is a special-purpose vehicle to coordinate educational advancement of Umuasonye, a community Umuariam, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, Southeast Nigeria. Its strategic objective is to drive talent development and targeted beneficiaries are Umuasonye youth with bias towards the less-privileged but outstanding talents, and in-country post-secondary education.
The foundation is registered with Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission. It has a Board of Trustees and a Management Council comprising key resourceful Umuasonye persons with strong professional backgrounds in education, information technology & data science, project management, entrepreneurship, finance, and skills management.
Dr. Michael Nwonu is the BoT Chairman, Dr. Emenike Akwafuo is President of Management Council, while Emeritus Prof BEB Nwoke, an accomplished academician of international repute, also from the community, in whose initials the foundation was named, is the Grand Patron.

Years Of Supporting The Educational Pursuits Of Asonye Talented Youths.
Mission Statement:
To leverage partnerships with community stakeholders, government agencies, corporate entities, NGOs, and the general public to create a financially sustainable model and supportive environment that enables human capital development of talented sons and daughters of Umuasonye Community.
Objectives:
- Provide sustainable educational financial support to existing community students in higher institutions of learning in-country.
- Promote education excellence through the award of scholarships & research grants to talented full-time scholars, with bias towards the less privileged.
- Support vocational, internship, IT, and other development training to enhance entrepreneurship skills & future employability.
- Partner with stakeholders including private, corporate, and government entities (local, state, and federal) to promote, enhance, or support educational infrastructure development within Umuasonye & adjoining catchment areas.
- To foster partnership with relevant bodies to improve government and NGO presence and accessibility to drive educational advancement of Umuasonye Community.
- Encourage, promote, and support personal development of community youth through coaching & mentoring programs.
Supported Programs:
- Fee reimbursement for key milestone examinations for Primary & Secondary schools.
- Full sponsorship of highly gifted students in Secondary schools.
- Bursary for students in Post Secondary institutions.
- One-off take-off grants for entrants into higher institutions in Nigeria.
- Limited postgraduate scholarships in Nigerian universities.
- Travel assistance for students proceeding on overseas studies on other scholarship.
- Financial support for Internship, academic research, and vocational training.
- Educational infrastructure development for Umuasonye community.
